Lido is situated at the top end of William Street in Northbridge near the Brisbane Street intersection. In this part of town if you throw a stone the odds are pretty high that you’ll hit one of the many Vietnamese eateries found in this area. While Lido might not be original it’s definitely one of our favourite Vietnamese restaurants.
The menu at Lido is like a small book. There is a wide range of options under every Asian category available. Fish, chicken, beef, lamb and vegetables, all cooked in different ways, with rice or noodles, in soups or salads, there really is everything! There will definitely be something to suit your needs and tastes. And if something is not quite as you would like it, have a chat to the waiters and they’ll do their best to accommodate you.
We often start with fresh rice paper rolls or curry puffs. Mains are best shared amongst diners. We recommend salt and pepper squid, ginger fish, the mushroom and spinach with Japanese tofu and the classic beef noodle soup.
Lido is the ideal venue for a quick bite to eat or an informal catch-up with friends. It’s not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but it doesn’t attempt to be. What they offer is consistently good food, very reasonable prices, prompt service and due to the large dining area you should easily be able to get a table.
